THOMAS C. JEWELL, PhD is on the staff of the Center for Practice Innovations, Columbia University, New York State Psychiatric Institute and the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester, School of Medicine and Dentistry. His specialty has been in evaluation and research into evidenced-based practices, which brought him to embrace the teaching and practice of Multifamily Psychoeducation Groups (MFGs). In addition to his experience with early intervention in the prodromal phase of psychosis, he is also a family intervention trainer with OnTrackNY, which deals with first episode psychosis.

In 2009, among his many other publications and grant projects he co-authored with Donna Downing and William McFarlane, ‘Partnering with Families: A Case Study using Multiple Family Group Psychoeducation for Schizophrenia,” in the Journal of Clinical Psychology.
